Praisy John, MS, FNP-BC, is a Nationally Certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She is licensed by the State of New York and her scope of practice grants implementation of healthcare services such as health promotion and the diagnosis of common and complex conditions to a variety of patients.

 

Praisy completed her Bachelor of science in Nursing at Dominican College in Orangeburg, New York. She then pursued her degree of Master of Science in Nursing and graduated from New York University as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

 

Praisy has nursing experience working at NYU Langone medical center; a Magnet recognized Hospital, in various settings including medical/surgical, labor and delivery and adult/geriatric care. This allows her the opportunity to care for patients in all stages of life.  She is currently an adjunct clinical professor with New York University. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma theta tau Honor Society of Nursing, Zeta Omega chapter.  She currently holds certifications in Basic Life support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation program and Electronic Fetal monitoring.

 

Praisy believes in fostering a relationship with her patients to understand their health needs and goals. She believes each patient is unique and requires various levels of care to achieve an optimal state of health. She hopes to join the Mohawk Medical team in assisting patients to lead healthier lives.
